Why did the women start wearing makeup for the men? shouldnt it be the other way around? ;)?

I'm sorry this may seem rude, but, women already get men to degrade themselves by having houses full of decoration, pillows that can't be used on beds that need to be taken off before sleep and put back on in the morning. Seems like a lot off unneeded work, especially when you never really tour your bedroom out to people. Also, god help you if you use the decorations in the bathroom. That soap that can't be used but you bought it anyway. women do a lot of things men don't get that make things look prettier. (those are only two) seems like men are the ones that have to fix them when they get messed up and get yelled at for it. to put make up on us, is, wrong. more than degrading.

the mindset of women is different than guys. to answer your question;

guys, sorry, most guys don't really worry about how pretty they look. in fact the little that do are ridiculed. (if found out) i could keep going but I got things to do around the house today. namely fix stuffWhy did the women start wearing makeup for the men? shouldnt it be the other way around? ;)?
i dont think its for men, well at least not for me.

i feel that makeup is a way of impressing myself, though i suppose it really depends on how much you put on.

i think that if women start wearing makeup to impress men, theyve gone way overboard.

the only way others can love you, is if you love yourself.

and yes, it should be, but makeup makes men look feminine, and i think most prefer men to be masculine-like :)Why did the women start wearing makeup for the men? shouldnt it be the other way around? ;)?
Makeup wasnt used for that purpose.

Men and women both wore cosmetics in ancient times. Look at ancient Egypt.
Because we have to put up with painful monthlies and painful pregnancies and we deserve to look good and have a treat. :]
';I would just like to say that it is my conviction that longer hair and other flamboyant affectations of appearance are nothing more than the male's emergence from his drab camouflage into the gaudy plumage which is the birthright of his sex!';
Lol I have contemplated this before. I would say that it may have started with the female chimps trying to attract the males but the intent has changed drastically. In earlier centuries women wore a strong lip or a strong eye or both. They did it to attract the men. Drastic and very visible changes. These days lipstick has fallen out of fashion. Smoky eyes have to compete with neutrals. Makeup has become much more about women impressing other women just as much as men. The ultimate feat in this day and age is to look like you are not wearing cosmetics at all, to give the illusion that you really are just that perfect. One of the most visible cosmetics today is lip gloss. Women like a glossy lip, they think a perfectly shiny pout is pretty. Men don't generally like it at all! They don't want to kiss a mouth full of goop! Women do this to compete with other women, the males have been bumped down the line lol. Yes, things have changed. I am glad it is not the other way around though because makeup is loads of fun!
