Why do women wear makeup and not men?

To make us look better? Why do we look better with it? Do men need certain features of their faces accented and blemishes covered? Why?Why do women wear makeup and not men?
In southern Africa, there is a people called the Wodabe...the men wear the makeup.

That's not tribal face painitng, that's makeup..they wear the jewelry too


The point is, it's what develops within a society, which determines how things will be thought of (imagined as) ';supposed to be';).


There are and have been a lot of different societies, that all do things differently.





So there really is no one real ';supposed to be';.!





And the wodabe men are not being or feeling feminine.


THEY think wearing makeup is masculine.


And experience it that way.

Not all women use makeup. Usually the more weathered older ones use it but the actually attractive ones do not use any of it. Men don't use it because we are naturally better looking than women are. A mans face looks good without makeup because we are just that way. Most woman look like leather by the time they are 25 so they really cake it on. In younger years girls wear it because they want to look older and sexier for older men..........but the actual sexy women don't wear any of it.
I think it's because, traditionally, men were the predominant sex and women had to make themselves up to attract a partner. And p'raps it's just stuck that way.





Also, I think women wear eye make-up, like mascara and eyeliner to make their eyes look bigger and cutesier. Men like 'cute' faces and big eyes as they feel they need to take care of the girl.
According to my philosophy professor that I had in college, it's thought that women started wearing makeup, specifically blush, because it's a sign of arousal. I know, strange, right? He said that when women get aroused, their cheeks naturally blush. Some guys do wear makeup...but they shouldn't!
because they dont care as much about what they look like....some do though, i was on a plane ride to lv with my mom and sister and the guy in front of me put on makeup, dream matte mousse, big sunglasses, hair gel, the whole shebang, it was kinda funny, he was with a woman and she didnt look half as done up as he did...lol
No to bring out our features not drown them....makeup is usually feminine and can give a look to a woman that u couldnt to a man.





besides anyone can look good with good old makeup,surgery and photoshop........

Reasons why we don't wear make-up:


-Don't care enough.


-Would feel uncomfortable even buying it.


-Would be ridiculed by other men.


-Too much effort.
I'm guessing that men don't wear it because they will think it makes them look gay or to girlie like. I wouldn't want to see my husband wearing make up, it would make me think I married a gay man.
because we wanna look good. but goth and punk rocker dudes wear it sometimes. guys also wear it in movies and on tv sometimes
Not all women wear it.


Some wear it to look better.


Or at least, they THINK they look better.

Men also wear makeup but not all of them cuz they look to girly.

i always wondered that...we can make ourselves look nicer, but if they want to, its a huge deal! Oh well...you cant change society!!
